These Are a Few Of My Favorite Things

Feel like I'm on the countdown for New Year's Eve, it's almost Pink Friday. Such a theme--These Are a Few Of My Favorite Things. This is an anything goes theme and should be alot of fun. I cannot wait, again, to see what is going to be out there. It is always so much fun.

I put up two of the favorite things of mine that I make. Herbal Bath Bags which are so wonderful to use in the bath to relax. The fragrance is just this side of heaven. Not the prettiest thing I make, but it sure is an indulgence!

The other item I put up is an herbal Hot Pad to protect your table from being marked by hot serving dishes or pans. They have an herbal (actually, spice) packet that releases its fragrance when the warmth of the serving dishes permeates the pad. It too smells YUMMY!

We have been having so many cool nights lately, I can hardly believe it is still August. This is an awfully strange summer. Hope this doesn't mean it's going to be a harsh and early winter. But, what I was going to tell you is that with these cool nights, those of us in a rural environment and a suburban environment have to be aware that those rascally rodents are going to start looking for a place to winter over. Remember, mice really hate the scent of peppermint. So sprinkle some peppermint leaves or peppermint essential oil where these little demons like to nest.

And, speaking of rascally rodents, don't mulch your plants for winter until we've had a good freeze. Mice and chipmunks and moles find that all your lovely mulch is an ideal place to nest and almost invariably will damage your beautiful perennials and roses. So the moral of this story, don't mulch too early!

New Web Site, Same Old Address

It has been an exciting week at Patricia Rose. I now have a new, easier to use website that will, hopefully, make my life a whole lot easier. You may notice that someone we all know and love (whose initials are JL) has worked with me to come up with the new format but keep the basic look of the old. My deepest apologies to this dear friend at Make Mine Pink and Cottage Collections if I was the cause of the lost sleep the past week, but I sure do appreciate it, Joyce.
Oops! The cat's out of the bag.
Here is the staff of Patricia Rose. They are also very happy they should no longer have to run for cover when the website it being maintained!

CHLOE, Head Seamstress

BUSTER, Head of Security

TIPPER, Head of Pest Control

DORIAN THE GREY, Head of Shipping (Air Mail, his specialty)

So that is why my Show and Tell Monday is Show and Tell Tuesday night. Between the website, getting ready for the retreat in Williamsburg, Pink Friday. The days just got away from me.
Don't forget Pink Friday--this week the theme is All About Bling. Watch out for the sparkles shooting out of the Make Mine Pink Boutiques. This should be something to behold. Chloe can't wait--she loves sparkles and glam!

Tag, You're It

Well, I have been tagged 3 times this week. Soooooo, I guess inquiring minds want to know. I am supposed to give you seven facts that you didn't know about me. Okay, then,
1. I am currently looking to sell my house and move to, hopefully, southern New Jersey (watch out, Susan, new neighbors).
2. I am a voracious reader, at least one book per week, for pleasure. That doesn't count educational material, inspirational material and computer reading.
3. I love doing crossword puzzles and sudoku
4. My grandfather was a well known jewelry designer for VanClef and Arpels and designed pieces for Queen Elizabeth and Jackie O (when she was Jackie Kennedy).
5. My favorite color is green
6. My favorite movie is 'On Golden Pond'.
7. My favorite book is '...and Ladies of the Club' by Helen Hooven Santmyer

So, those are my seven little nuggets! Sooooo, to those who now get tagged, let's learn about our new ladies--

Kari Wisdom
Lynn of House and Garden Boutique
Michele of the Shabby Castle
Rebecca A.
and then how about those who I haven't seen get tagged--
Joyce
Katie
Andie

So let's see what we learn here!

Chloe's Show and Tell Monday

Show and Tell Monday, one of our favorites. Chloe insisted it was her turn to do a Show and Tell. I told her it was really for Boutique owners at Make Mine Pink but she insisted regardless. So please forgive our little Diva, she wants to be a Pinkie in the worst way.

I haven't told her yet that she cannot go to the Retreat with me in September so she has been very busy at work on her pink T-shirt for the Pink Tee-Shirt Contest. The poor baby is going to be so disappointed. Meanwhile, here is her Show and Tell:

Chloe wants to know if you think the ruffled lace will make her butt look big?

In the meantime, she has been feverishly searching the internet for some pink puppy sneakers, why did we ever teach her to surf the net? I have to chase her off the sewing machine now, I have some work to do.

Pink friday - 8/1/08- Nifty Nurseries

time is running out, Pink Friday is going strong and items are flying off the shelves. Nifty Nurseries has turned out to be a great theme. The baby blankets, the bibs, the wall decor, the clothing (there is a baby bunny jacket that is sooooo adorable), bumper sets, diaper bags diaper cakes and you know I came up with a baby sachet -Lullababy Pillowettes...I'm guessing that if you can't find it here, you probaby won't be needing it! Go take a look at www.patriciarose-apotpourri.com and then head on over to Make Mine Pink and check out all the participating boutiques. This is all just so cute, don't miss it.
